We've been waiting for UQ to get back to Faith on her application for Master of Educational Studies for the longest time, given that we first applied in late May! But we continue to trust God that He has the best plan in store for us! Aussie dollars are apparently dropping!
"Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD." (Psalm 27:14)

Of Faith and Prayer
Faith went for a minor surgery last Friday to correct a crooked bone in her nose. She went for the post-op review today and took out the 2 pegs that were stuck in her nose. She's feeling awful (bouts of giddiness and pain) and moaning a lot (ha, but she says blessed are those who "moan"), but that's part and parcel of the recovery process. The good thing is that she is definitely better now than 2 days ago! According to doc, she should be well in 2-3 weeks' time.
She will be on MC for the rest of the week, and will be going for another review this Saturday. Please keep her in your kind prayers, that God will heal her quickly and completely.
Speaking of prayers, I was very encouraged to see many of us come for the Corporate Prayer meeting yesterday.
I learnt recently that prayer should not only be a NEED, but a WANT. We should not only be praying because we need God to help us with something, but beyond that, we should WANT to pray! As in Economics' term, a "want" is defined as having a strong desire for something... can i urge us to have a stronger desire for prayer?
In line with this, the YPM is entering into a month-long of prayer and fasting for the Easter event in March. May God give me the want to pray!

Emma-lynn's 4th birthday
This is my cute little niece, Emma-lynn. We just celebrated her birthday 2 weeks ago at the Singapore Island Country Club (SICC)!This was my first time visiting the SICC, and while driving into the club, I noticed that every other vehicle was either a Merc, Volvo, BMW or some other expensive car! Hmm... there are indeed many rich people in Singapore! Heard that the membership now stands at $180,000, and somemore have to pay monthly fee of $300+!!
Kate-lynn, Emma's older sister. Both sisters are such natural posers!
Bethany - Emma's cousin (can't believe she's only 1.5 years old!) She has got a strong character!

Lastly, the symbol of prestige!

Proverbs 3:4-5 (NLT)
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will direct your paths."
Faith to receive healing
Faith hasn't been feeling well for the past week. She has been getting tension headaches at the back of her head and perhaps due to nasal congestion. She has seen both Chinese and Western doctors, but the medicine hasn't helped much to alleviate her discomfort.
Anyway, I decided to fast for her today, and do my bible reading at the same time. I'm so excited and thankful after reading Matthew 8, because it speaks about the miraculous healing encounters of Jesus! The man with leprosy (vs.2), the Roman officer's young servant (vs. 6-13), Peter's mother-in-law (vs. 14-15) and the people who were demon-possessed... they were all healed by Jesus!
"This fulfilled the word of the Lord through Isaiah, who said, "He took our sicknesses and removed our diseases."" (Matt 8:17)
After praying, I received a SMS from Faith saying that she felt better! Thank you, Jesus, for answering our prayers!

Psalm 8:1-9
1O Lord, our Lord, the majesty of your name fills the earth!
Your glory is higher than the heavens
2You have taught children and nursing infants to give you praise.
They silence your enemies who were seeking revenge.
3When i look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers - the moon and the stars you have set in place -
4what are mortals that you should think of us, mere humans that you should care for us?
5For you made us only a little lower than God, and you crowned us with glory and honor.
6You put us in charge of everything you made, giving us authority over all things -
7the sheep and the cattle and all the wild animals,
8the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea, and everything that swims the ocean currents.
9O Lord, our Lord, the majesty of your name fills the earth!
Your glory is higher than the heavens

Broken water flask
Last night, the internal portion of the retro water flask that Faith was holding came off and crashed (yes, that was how loud the impact was when I first heard it!) into the wash basin! Thank God Faith wasn't cut or injured!
Apparently, I think the glue inside the water flask had given way and couldn't hold the whole thing together... there were metal fragments all over the place and we had to be very careful when we cleaned up the mess. The impact had been so great that some fragments even flew a few metres away, and how Faith wasn't cut must only have been God's protection! Thank you, Jesus!
Even as I reflect now, I am thankful that the incident happened only when Faith was pouring the flask at the wash basin, and not while any of us were pouring the flask at the dinning table or elsewhere! The impact had been contained at the basin, and I can't imagine what could have happened if it happened elsewhere! Thank you again, Jesus!
Moral of the story: Pour your water flask/kettle at the basin and nowhere else!
